A premier short course off road racing event is taking over the East Valley this weekend.
The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is one of the most competitive in the sport, as it will put some of the most talented drivers in the nation against one another on Saturday, April 13 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler.
Among those competing in the Super Clean Duel in the Desert race this weekend is Chandler native Corry Weller, who happens to be one of the most dominant female off-road drivers in the nation.
“It’s nice to be able to compete in my hometown track,” Weller said. “It’s just minutes from my house. This is my favorite and I feel like I always do well here.”
Weller has paved the way for other female drivers to compete in the series. She is the defending Turbo UTV champion of the series and has won 14 UTV titles overall in her career.
The race at Wild Horse Pass on Saturday is the second race out of 10 in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, which extends to other Western states such as California and Nevada.
